Much awaited vikram starrer ‘ Kandasamy’ has finally hit the theaters today. The movie begins with poor folks praying at Lord Muruga Temple. They write their problems on a piece of paper and tie it around the branch of a tree. They believe that their wish would be fulfilled by the lord Kandasamy.
Our super hero (vikram) takes advantage of their belief by becoming a local god ‘kandasamy’. Like Robin Hood he started stealing money from the rich and gives it to serve poor. This slowly draws the attention of local cops and they form a team under special CBCID officer (prabhu) to investigate the case. The rest of the story is all about who is Kandasamy and what for he is doing all these things.
As usual Vikram has did full justice to his role. The get ups he wore are impressive.Shriya’s skin show is a treat to all her fans. Her new hair style is definitely going to set a trend among youngsters. Devi sri prasad has scored an excellent album. The tunes along with the visuals makes our feet tap.
Vadivelu’s comedy tracks are below par. Ashish Vidhyarthi and Y G Mahendra’s roles are clumsy. The one thing that let the film really down is editing. The scenes are just scattered that makes one feel that any scene could be placed anywhere inside the movie. After you feel you have reached the climax, the movie still proceeds to another half hour with an item number and then finally reaches the climax.
With so much hype before the release, the film has failed to meet the expectation. I would give 2 out of 5 for the movie.
